Colour Your Life
John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. (NRSV)
The sad face is that, for many people, life just seems flat, grey, lifeless. And sure, we go through the odd season like that. But it’s not meant to go on. It was never God’s plan for you to lead a grey, colourless life. Never.
I have a wonderful daughter called Melissa, and a few years back when she was still at home with us, we decided to repaint her bedroom. It was just a grungy dirty white and it really needed a fresh coat of paint.
So we took a walk on the wild side and chose a deep rich purple for the feature wall, together with a gentle off-white for the rest of the room. Just two days it took, and you simply wouldn’t believe the transformation. Two days, two cans of paint and it just looked a million bucks. It was incredible.
Colour, it turns out, makes a huge difference to life.
Jesus talked about the fact that He came that we might have life in all its abundance.
John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. (NRSV)
Now if Jesus is who He says He is – the Son of God, the Creator of the Universe – then “colour” … well, He invented it.
Look around. There are literally millions of shades and tones and … colours in this world. What would life be without those colours? “Abundant” would be an empty word, wouldn’t it?
Can I ask you a question? Is your life full of abundant colour, or is it a kind of lifeless, washed out off-white?
Maybe it’s time to colour your life. Maybe it’s time to get close to Jesus and let Him unleash an incredible transformation in you.
I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

Knowing that “..;. all things were created by Him & for Him (Col. 1:16), and we look at the birds, for example, the colors that were used in just creating them blows our colourful minds!
Our God & Saviour definitely is abundant in His colours!
