Every Sinner Has a Future

2 Corinthians 12:9 But the Lord said, “My grace is all you need. Only when you are weak can everything be done completely by my power.” So I will gladly boast about my weaknesses. Then Christ’s power can stay in me.

It was October 15, 1995, that I walked through the doors of a church for the first time in a long, long time. And I have to tell you, it was a mightily uncomfortable feeling.

I ran across these words online recently. I don’t know who wrote them but they’re powerful so I wanted to share them with you:

If you’re having sex before marriage, go to church anyway. If you’re a drug addict trying to beat addiction, go to church anyway. If you were out drunk all night the night before, go to church anyway. If you aren’t sure what gender you prefer, go to church anyway. If you can’t quit that disgusting habit, go to church anyway.

Church is a hospital for the broken, lost, empty, confused, desperate and rejected. Every sinner has a future and every saint has a past. How do we break the chains of addiction and bondage? By prayer, prayer for you and prayer with you.

There isn’t a single person within the four walls of the church who doesn’t have something they hate or regret about their past. We’ve all made mistakes and will continue to do so, BUT God’s grace is enough. There are things that I’d never want to admit out loud about myself, but God knows. And He loves me, nonetheless.

So whatever you’re doing, whatever you’ve done, whatever you might do, go to church anyway. It might just change your life.

For the record, October 15th 1995 was the day I gave my life to Jesus.

2 Corinthians 12:9 But the Lord said, “My grace is all you need. Only when you are weak can everything be done completely by my power.” So I will gladly boast about my weaknesses. Then Christ’s power can stay in me.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh
 for you
 today.
