God In Your Old Age

Isaiah 46:3,4 Family of Jacob, listen to me! You who are left from the family of Israel, listen! I have carried you since you left your mother’s womb. I carried you when you were born, and I will still be carrying you when you are old. Your hair will turn grey, and I will still carry you. I made you, and I will carry you to safety.

One of the things that I find so intriguing is how God can take something that He spoke to people thousands of years ago in a completely different context, and use it to impact our lives so powerfully today.

So let’s get right into it.

So what’s the context? Well, God’s people (Israel, the family of Jacob as they’re referred to here) had been in slavery in Babylon for seventy years because they’d been unfaithful, worshipping false gods, so the Lord punished them.

And of course, Babylon, being a pagan nation, provided fertile ground for continuing idol worship. This couple of verses comes right in the middle of God denouncing that practice because He’s about to restore Israel to the Promised Land. It’s also a scary time. Most of these people had lived their whole lives as slaves. Was God really going to take them back to this Land that they’d only heard about? What would that mean? Would it be dangerous?

But here’s the kicker: Despite all their fears and failures, despite their unfaithfulness, God remained faithful. Despite our unfaithfulness, God remains faithful. From the cradle to the grave, through all life’s ups and downs, even when our hair turns grey, even when our bodies start to fail, God is faithful into our old age … and beyond.

So, whatever your situation, whatever your fears and failures, whatever your age, remember this: God is faithful.

That’s His Word. Fresh … for you … today.

There are think in this world that makes so sense whatsoever for example why before the creation of Christianity why, in BC (or BCE), in Ireland there were people who were already worshipping Christianity.

Why did Julius Caesar‘s historian write about people who came east of the Canaan mountains that once a year worship the birth of a religious leader and once a year worship the death of a religious leader? This was a person who had yet to be born. Just one a few of the things that Julius Caesar‘s historian wrote about these very people.

Yet this information is only found if someone took the time to deep to find what is hidden but in reality is only hidden from the public viewing because it’s things that made no sense and could not be explained by normal means, yet this information still exists for those who take the initiative to look for what cannot be explained.

When I was in the 7th grade back in 1968 I experienced some occurrences that happened that made no sense. Therefore, I turned to God in prayer and asked him for understanding. Little did I know that it would send me down a path that became even more confusing than I was already in but led me to questions that eventually would lead me to an unbelievable truth. Where the beginning is not the beginning but part of the end and where the end is actually part of the beginning to everything. It’s just that we have yet to get to the point where that end is the beginning.

Like I said, more confusing than you can ever imagine, but this is God’s world not ours. Where God is the Alpha and Omega, meaning which is first and which is last (by God’s clock of telling time.) When it’s God who only knows the order that events truly occurred and it is far beyond our primitive mind to even try to comprehend what is, what was, or what will be. Sometimes I wish I never asked that question because no one cares to believe anything that doesn’t follow the rules of the closed box that contains all of human existence and they dare not step beyond the boundaries of that closed box for the fear they will forever be looked as an outcast.
