Lost and Found
Jeremiah 29:12-14 Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you. When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart, I will let you find me, says the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.
Can I ask you what might be a bit of a touchy question today? Is God real to you? I mean is He making a powerful difference in our life, or is “God” a vague notion, a theory perhaps or a possibility that’s really not impacting on your life at all?
My wife and I were out for dinner recently with a friend. It was a wet night, so she brought an umbrella with her. But by the time we left, the skies had cleared and she left her umbrella behind.
So the next day, she went back to retrieve her much-prized umbrella from the lost and found department at the venue. Now blind Freddy can see that if she hadn’t gone back to look for it, she’d never have found it. Right?!
To find something, more often than not, you have to go looking.
Why do we imagine that it’s any different with God? So many people wonder to themselves whether or not God is real. The world is full of people with some vague idea that perhaps there’s a God and if there is, He’s probably good and loving. But that’s where it ends. They never go deliberately looking for Him and so they never discover the amazing power of His love.

Seek God out with all your heart, because when you do you will find Him.
