Overcoming Disappointment
1 Peter 5:7 Give all your worries to him, because he cares for you.
Everyone you know, no matter how much they love you, will at some stage disappoint you. And that emotion of disappointment can end up ruining not just your day, but if you allow it to, your life.
At first blush, that’s a bit of a depressing thought – everyone I know is out to disappoint me. But think about it … disappointment says more about us than it does about the other person.
We have certain, often unspoken, expectations of someone. They fall short of those expectations … and so we react with either a quiet or indeed a noisy sense of disappointment. But then … then they do the same thing again and again. So it eats away at you. You start to gnaw on it, swallowing this disappointment thing to the point of worrying, to the point of allowing it to ruin your life.
Now I’m not saying that we shouldn’t hold people accountable for their actions. Of course, we should. But do you see how that emotional reaction of disappointment can end up ruining your life, robbing you of the peace and the joy that God has for you?
So how do you walk away from it? How do you find healing for your soul? How do you put things back into perspective?
1 Peter 5:7 Give all your worries to him, because he cares for you.
Sometimes it’s the shortest verses that end up being the most powerful. Disappointment has a way of plundering our emotions, of distorting our perspective. But when we hand it all over to God, when we pour our hearts out to Him, our emotions are stilled, our perspective is restored, because God cares for us.
Don’t allow disappointment to destroy your life. God is the one person who will never disappoint because He cares for you.
That’s His Word. Fresh … for you … today.

I feel like I often disappoint my fiancé. I am a newly rededicated Christian because he lead me back to Jesus. I just sent this video to him and I praise the Lord that He loves us both.

Today I sad because my younger son is making choices that goes against the way me and my husband raised him. Also if I look at the world around me there’s such a lot of sadness. KZN and Eastern Cape were flooded with more than 400 that died. The wars in Ukraine, Yemen, Siria and other places kill innocent people, letting babies and other people suffer. My wish is that Jesus will come and safe everyone that suffers in some or other way.
