Peace of Mind
2 Thessalonians 3:16 May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all. (ESV)
Peace is a subject that I love to circle back to again and again because a life of peace has to be one of the greatest things that we can ever receive from the hand of God … which is why He tells us, in fact, to pursue peace, to make it a real priority in our lives.
So how peaceful is your life right in this moment? In your heart of hearts – deep inside where you live, where you feel, where the things that truly matter go on – is there peace, or is there turmoil?
Are you filled with an overwhelming sense of the peace that Jesus promised in the face of persecution and temptation, or are you secretly troubled by something?
If perhaps it’s more akin to the latter, there is a Word, the very Word of God, that I want to speak over you today.
2 Thessalonians 3:16 May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all. (ESV)
This is Paul signing off his letter to the church in Thessalonica; you know, those final few verses of his letters that we never really pay much attention to. But this is the very Word of God, so we know that it’s alive and active, sharper than a two-edged sword. And God’s Word for you today, my friend, is peace … His peace … at all times, in every way.
So often the circumstances in which we find ourselves are completely outside our control. In this very letter, Paul addressed some tough, dangerous and frightening things with his friends.
But in the end, he speaks God’s peace over them, which is what I’m doing now with you. Are you ready to receive it? Will you believe it?
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
