Pleasing God
Hebrews 11:1,2,6 Faith is what makes real the things we hope for. It is proof of what we cannot see. God was pleased with the people who lived a long time ago, because they had faith like this … Without faith no one can please God. Whoever comes to God must believe that he is real and that he rewards those who sincerely try to find him.
When you get up each morning, put your feet on the ground, wander into the bathroom, what’s the desire that’s on your heart?
I’m a simple guy with a simple desire in my heart. I just want to live each day to please God. Nothing spectacular. Nothing flashy.
Just get up out of bed each day, with a good attitude, love my wife and family, honour and bless other people. Just basic simple stuff.
And not because I’m a good guy, it’s just that God has done so much for me. A quarter of a century ago, He saved me from the pit of despair. Jesus suffered so I could be forgiven. He’s done so much for me and I want to live a life that’s pleasing to Him.
And of course, I’m not the only one. I’m hoping and praying that you have exactly that same desire. The question is, how do you please God? How exactly do you do that? Well …
Hebrews 11:1,2,6 Faith is what makes real the things we hope for. It is proof of what we cannot see. God was pleased with the people who lived a long time ago, because they had faith like this … Without faith no one can please God. Whoever comes to God must believe that he is real and that he rewards those who sincerely try to find him.
In other words, God just wants us to trust Him, to take Him at His Word, to believe that what He says is true, even when our circumstances are screaming the exact opposite at us.
Without faith no one can please God. Whoever comes to God must believe that he is real and that he rewards those who sincerely try to find him.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
