Prove it!
Romans 5:7,8 Very few people will die to save the life of someone else, even if it is for a good person. Someone might be willing to die for an especially good person. But Christ died for us while we were still sinners, and by this God showed how much he loves us.
In a world where, in a spiritual sense, people generally believe that all roads lead to Rome, that any faith in something good will do, how can we possibly sustain the position that Jesus is the only way?
These days, spirituality isn’t just a private thing anymore. We live in a world where your truth is your truth and my truth is my truth, so it’s fine to let our spirituality hang out. If it works for you, do it, believe it, just don’t shove it down my throat. After all, all roads lead to Rome, don’t they?
That’s the prevailing wisdom. And then some Christian comes along and says, “Well, actually, no. Jesus said that He is the only way. That no one could come to God except through Him.”
Seriously? In this day and age? Come on! That’s from the dark ages. The world’s moved on. All roads lead to Rome, just pick one that works for you. How can you Christians claim that your way is the only way? Prove it!
Well, here it is. The proof. The evidence. On the record. Irrefutable.
Romans 5:7,8 Very few people will die to save the life of someone else, even if it is for a good person. Someone might be willing to die for an especially good person. But Christ died for us while we were still sinners, and by this God showed how much he loves us.
Jesus didn’t just talk about the truth, He did something about it. God didn’t just say He loves us, He proved His love for us in that while we were still out there heading in the opposite direction, Jesus died for us to carve out the way, the only way, back. For you … and for me. That’s the proof.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
