That Unshakeable Sense of Guilt
Romans 3:23,24 All have sinned and are not good enough to share God’s divine greatness. They are made right with God by his grace. This is a free gift. They are made right with God by being made free from sin through Jesus Christ.
There are many obvious things about each one of us that are there naturally because they’re encoded in our DNA; handed down from generation to generation. But there’s another thing that’s been handed down to us which may not be quite so obvious: an unshakeable sense of guilt.
Now at this point you might be thinking to yourself, I’ve never felt all that guilty of anything. That may be true, but because of the way our thinking’s morphed from days of old in a world that’s becoming increasingly individualistic and self-absorbed, I’d be surprised if you haven’t felt, at least from time to time, a deep sense of inadequacy that comes from that same root of guilt … just with a different flavour.
